The Babysitting Course is a valuable course for boys and girls ages 10-17 who are interested in becoming the next neighborhood babysitter. Our Babysitter Course will cover topics such as interviewing tips, communication skills, ages/stages of young babies and toddlers, safety, first aid, feeding and caring for young children. Each future babysitter will also get to learn how to hold a baby and change his/her diaper.

Participants take notes from a PowerPoint, share group discussions, and share hands on experiences. At the end, there will be a brief quiz and certificates will be distributed.
About the instructor: Kathleen Berwick is a first grade teacher in Wappingers Central School District. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and special education from Marist College and a Master's degree in literacy from SUNY New Paltz as well as three teaching certifications including early childhood education, general education, and special education.
