DESCRIPTION:
Matt Grossman, Vice President of Hudson Valley Softball Umpires Association (HVSUA), will be conducting a clinic for the purposes of recruiting new softball umpires, which are badly needed. HVSUA umpires all of the public school (and some private school) fast pitch softball games in Dutchess County (Modified, JV and Varsity) as well as Little League softball and tournaments. If you play or played softball or you're a parent of a daughter that plays or played, please consider attending the clinic to learn about umpiring (there will be actual live pitching, with Matt calling balls and strikes as well as demonstrating base umpire positioning and movements) and then hopefully some of you will go ahead with the formal certification training classes that will begin in mid-February. Such classes will be held virtually, versus in person. |
