COVID-19 VACCINE UPDATE

Dear Senior Center Members,
 
We just received word that Dutchess County’s JC Penny vaccination site might be receiving more doses later this week.
 
Please see the information below on how to best get an appointment.
 
How to Sign-up for a Dutchess County Vaccination Site:
Due to limited vaccines and high demand, there are not a lot of options to sign up for one of the County’s vaccination sites. 

At this time, there are two(2) ways to signup listed below.
  1. Signup for Email Notifications: (click on the link to the left to signup)
    1. Dutchess County will send email notifications whenever a batch of vaccinations become available at one of their vaccination centers.
    2. When this happens, they will provide the details on how to signup.
    3. Unfortunately, these “sell-out” quick so you have to act fast whenever you receive and email.
  2. New Vaccine Signup Form: (click on the link to the left to complete the form)
    1. ALL Seniors are encouraged to complete this form.
    2. This form will add you to a list that will allow the County to call you when a vaccine appointment opens up at one of their vaccination centers.
Other Vaccination Sites:
  1. New York State Sponsored Sites;
    • New York State vaccination sites are open to all Phase 1a and 1b eligible individuals. 
    • The closest state sponsored sites to Dutchess County are Westchester County Center and SUNY Albany.
    • To find out about available appointments at these sites:
      1. Call the New York State COVID-19 Vaccination Hotline: 1-833-697-4829 open 7am-10pm, 7 days a week 
      2. Use the New York State “Am I Eligible?” online application at https://am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/
  2. Pharmacies:
    1. New York State has allocated 100 doses each of COVID-19 vaccine to the following pharmacies in Dutchess County this week. Appointments must be made directly with the pharmacy.
      1. Walgreens, 2024 South Road, Poughkeepsie
      2. Walgreens, 827 Dutchess Turnpike, Poughkeepsie
      3. Walgreens, 704 Freedom Plains Road, Lagrange
      4. Walgreens, 1575 Route 9, Wappingers Falls
      5. Rite Aid, 238 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie
      6. Rite Aid, 129 South Avenue, Poughkeepsie
      7. Rite Aid, 3350 North Road, Poughkeepsie
      8. Rite Aid, 320 Main Street, Beacon
      9. Rite Aid, 1 Crum Elbow Road, Hyde Park
      10. Rite Aid, 40 Vassar Road, Poughkeepsie
  3. Hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers, Urgent Care, or Amulatory Care Providers
  4. Veterans Affairs Hospitals and Clinics:
    1. VA Hudson Valley is hosting walk-in COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics for eligible veterans who are enrolled with the VA and are at least 65 years or older OR a frontline essential worker on Wednesday, February 17 and Friday, February 19 from 8:30am-3:30pm at the FDR Montrose and Castle Point locations.
    2. Veterans can call 845-838-7668 or visit the VA.gov vaccination page for more information. Please be aware, due to high call volume, you may need to leave a message, but will be called back as soon as possible.
    3. You must be enrolled with the VA to receive the vaccine.
    4. If you’ve served in the military and would like to register for VA health care, please call 845-831-2000 and press 3.
    5. Unfortunately at this time, the VA is not vaccinating veterans’ spouses.
