Ø Talent Show is planned to begin at 12:00 PM.
Ø If your camper is participating, please talk to him/her to see if there are any props or “outfits” needed for their performance.
Ø The show will be taking place on the platform of the pavilion facing the volleyball court. Spectators will sit between the pavilion and the volleyball court. Spectators may want to bring a lawn chair or blanket to view the show.
*WEATHER CLOSING POLICY: If it is raining in the morning we will do our best to keep camp in session, however camp may be closed. Please use your best parental judgment on bringing your child to camp. If there is a cancellation we will post a message on the Recreation Phone Line at 845-831-3371.
*Continuing from Last Summer*- People picking up campers must show ID every 1st day of the week, but please have it handy every day. If a counselor does not recognize someone from the 1st day, they may ask ID again. If after the first day, someone else picks up your camper, he/she must also show ID.
CAMPER DISCIPLINE PROCEDURE:
If a camper is behaving inappropriately, the counselor present is to handle the situation. If the camper does not correct the inappropriate behavior, the camper will be sent to a Director.
Ø 3 Strike Rule: After the 3rd strike, the camper will not be allowed to go on the weekly trip. NO REFUND. Only the Directors may assign strikes. Strikes may be assigned for the following, however are not limited to them. Running away, cursing, wandering, disobeying camp staff, hitting/fighting, or name calling.
Ø The parent will be notified of their child’s behavior and of the strike. If the behavior continues, the camper will not be able to attend Camp the rest of the summer. NO REFUNDS.
**We have been battling an issue with the use of inappropriate language at camp. We understand that our campers are the age of experimenting with inappropriate language, however we do not want it to get out of control and we would like to encourage better ways of saying and handling things. We will begin to issue “Strikes” (See reverse side) for inappropriate language. Please talk to your child(ren) about the use of inappropriate language.
REMINDERS:
Ø This summer is going to be a hot one. Send your child with a labeled, frozen water bottle.
Ø Sneakers are mandatory, no sandals. Sunscreen and insect repellent should be applied before camp, however, we do have some in First Aid if necessary.
Ø Campers must be signed in and out every day with their counselor. Please do not just drop off or pick up your camper without signing him/her in or out.
Ø Our hours for camp are 8:15AM-2:15 PM, NO EXTENDED DAY THIS WEEK.
Ø Check the lost and found daily. Items still in the lost and found bin on Friday will be thrown out.
Thanks,
Jay Maietta, Camp Director
