SUMMER BASKETBALL CAMPS
With the opening of the Recreation Facility in April of
2009, the
Town of Fishkill will be operating Summer Basketball Camps for children
entering 1st through 10th grade.
Once
again we expand and improve our program! All Camps are
Directed and
coached by Local High School coaches and players.
Each
camp will include warm ups, dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and of
course, plenty of playing time. Each camp will be designed around the
particular age group.
Participation is limited.

Registration received after May
15th will be charged an additional fee of $10 for late processing.

INTRO TO BASKETBALL
Division will focus primarily on fun games that
incorporate the fundamental skills and rules of
basketball to promote learning. It will also give an
introduction to our popular Summer and Winter Hoops
League now open to those entering 5th through 10th
grade.

JUNIOR BOYS, JUNIOR GIRLS, & MODIFIED GIRLS BASKETBALL
Division will consist of instruction covering individual
fundamentals, stations, team concepts, and competitive
situations/competitions.
Depending on registration numbers, Players will be
broken down into teams to play a “mini season.”
Knowledgeable coaches will be assigned to each team
providing for a player to coach ratio that will generate
a positive way to learn the game of basketball.
The facility hosts an official size basketball court
with enough baskets to break the players down into
smaller groups. Smaller groups and more repetition
(under the direct supervision of an experienced coach)
will provide better results.
